Terry began working in restaurants at age 16. Although he studied psychology and sociology in school, he always felt at home in the kitchen. “It was my passion and I couldn’t get away from it,” he says. After moving to Florida in 1985, he worked at Cafe L’Europe on Palm Beach as well as Ruth’s Chris in North Palm Beach. He opened The Sunset in 2002.
“You learn a little from everyone,” Marince admits, although he regards Norbert Goldner of Cafe L’Europe as his mentor. ” The responsibility of a Chef doesn’t stop at the kitchen door. You have to be equally concerned with what is going on in the dining room.”
